NotoriusPIG My first boat was a 14' Sears gamefisher and I just bought a regular depth finder and screwed the transducer onto a chunk of 1x4 and clamped it to the back of the boat with a big orange hand clamp from home depot. It worked great. 2001-07-02

markdpm I have a HumminBird portable fish finder, I think it is the ID 100, anyway it comes in a durable plastic suitcase that encloses a flip up screen and batteries, the sensor is on a suction cup with a long wire, I've used it on everything from canoes in a lake to 25 ft. ocean boats on the reefline. I'm very happy with it...Not too much $$$ either, Mark 2001-08-25
BayouBill-LDF RTDcanuck - Go to the "Bottomline" web site and look at the Fish'n Buddy series - top quality portable units with a mounting bracket, side views, multi-screens etc. neat little LCD units. They even offer a ice-mount for ice fishing. Give them a look see.

FishRig I put a Humminbird Portrait on my drift boat. Works well if you can keep the suction stuck in place. Might be easier on the material of a canoe, my DB is aluminum. 2002-01-28
