Sonar types

CajunFishMaster	I'm currently looking into a gps/sonar unit for my new boat. I am looking at something in the price range of $300 - $600. Is a transom mount transducer any better than a through hull mount transducer for the sonar?	2002-08-27
Pursuit2150	I tend to go with a transom mount, it is easier to clean when it gets deposits on it. I also recommend not getting a gps/sounder combo. Buy separate units.	2002-08-27
