Trolling motor transducer

Jetcrusr69 I just bought a Lowrance x91 on ebay. It came with the skimmer transducer w/temp sensor. Can I mount that on my trolling motor or do I have to get the pod type transducer especially for trolling motors?

ob1jeeper Am not familiar with the Lowrance model you mentioned, however, there aren't too many newer model units that don't work when mounted to the trolling motor. If there is going to be any issue, it would usually be RF interference, due to lack of enough shielding, but most of the newer units have plenty of shielding for this application.

I'd say try it and see what happens... If you start seeing changes in the screen patterns when the trolling motor is being powered, you may have to either add some shielding to the transducer & wiring, or mount it in a different location... Good Luck

wezie Probably, with the right trolling motor transducer mt.
I just saw one from Minn Kota that would have taken some skimmer transom transducers. I had ordered their trolling motor transducer and it comes with the straps to mount it to the trolling motor so didn't need the adaptor.
The adaptor is a lot less expensive than another transducer.

topwater_jerkbait I'll just put my .02 worth in here.
I have a regular transom mount transducer and have it mounted to the trolling motor by wire ties.
Been there for 3 years now and works just fine.
